'National Post' First North American Paper to Adopt 2D Barcoding

CHICAGO Toronto-headquartered National Post Tuesday said it has become the first North American newspaper to adopt a 2D barcode system that allows readers to scan the printed paper with a mobile device to get updated digital content.

  1. That's cool. When you scan the barcode, are you brought to the newspapers website? If so, why don't they just let people go there by themselves. What is the benifit of a paper offering this bar code technology?

  2. I had the same thoughts. It's like that old saying, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" I guess it's just another feature to have. Hate to say it but I won't be buying a newspaper because it has this feature.
