Craigslist CEO Feels 'terribly' about Craigslist Killer

  1. This whole thing is just really scary. I don't use Craigslist at all, and this would be one of the reasons. It is just such an open format with no filter for crazy people and really how do you really know who the crazy people are? Not even in respect for what these women were advertsing, but what if you are just trying to sell your couch and someone answers your add. You are inviting a stranger into your house that you know nothing about just based on your Craigslist connection. It all just gives me the creeps. I guess this would be one downfall to social media, in connects us all, but maybe in some instances it connects us too much. ~Ginger

  2. I have the same feelings Ginger. I guess if I were going to be selling something I would bring my boyfriend along and meet them in a public place. It is very scary and I am surprised how many people meet after talking on the internet or selling something online.

  3. I saw this on the news this morning and it is hard to believe. I think he was a med student, wasn't he? I have used Craig's list some and have had great luck. But I always talk to the person on the phone before I meet them and I would never go alone. Makes me a little weary of using the service. How could there be more security added to the internet? If porn is illegal, why can't they trace the sights that have it online and take care of it?

  4. Sorry guys, I'm a dedicated craigslist user despite this video. I sold all my furniture thru craigslist when I moved to TN and my former roommate just sold all of his furniture using craigslist earlier this year.

yes, you do have to be careful and speak with the people prior to going over there or allowing them to come to your place, but it forces you to get good at picking out weird personalities over email and the phone.
