Last Minute News! ITunes has 3 prices!

I think I read about how this was in the works. I wonder if this will help or hinder sales of digital downloads? Will people wait until new release songs drop to .99 or will they pay the full $1.29? It will be interesting to see if .30 makes a difference.

ITunes goes to 3-tier pricing

  1. That was an interesting article. I'm not so sure about the 3 price tier with I-Tunes. I wonder if these executives actually involved the consumer beforehand. Did they ask or survey us about their new out of the box strategy. I know I'll definately not purchase a song for $1.29 when I have been accustomed to paying $.99 for a song. "The previous "one price fits all' strategy has long caused friction between Apple and the music labels, which argued that songs should be priced differently to reflect their perceived value by consumers"---it's always about the money.
